Pacific Gastroenterology Associates (PGA) aims to see patients in a timely fashion and are pleased to launch our Central Intake, Pooled Referral Process. This initiative was funded by the Specialist Services Committee (SSC) with the purpose of improving access to a specialist care.
With a pooled referral model, the patient is queued to the next available specialist within our group and matched to one of the 10 gastroenterologists best suited to treat the referring condition.
We encourage all new patients to PGA be referred to the 1st available gastroenterologist.
We are confident that the quality improvements we are implementing will positively reduce patient wait times and appreciate your efforts to support our new process by using our Standardized Referral Form and choosing the 1st Available specialist.

We have standardized our referral form to support a minimum data set for the efficient data capture, allowing our team to quickly triage the patient based on the reason for referral. Our standardized referral form is available for physicians and specialists to access in the following EMRs:

- Med Access
- Wolf
- Oscar
